The kitchen had everything I needed and then some. Great Open layout for the common areas, top-of-the-line appliances, and super comfy beds. The washer and dryer were a plus they even provide soap for those who may have forgotten theirs. My favorite bnb so far keep up the awesome work!"

Although another home is on the property and it was occupied (only noticed by seeing the car parked in the evening and/or mornings) we never saw or heard them. It was very private. It is a good drive on some scenic but winding roads. So would not recommend for anyone looking to drink a lot wine all day and drive back at night. We wanted to relax and have some peace away from the city and we got exactly that! I would recommend and hope to return someday!"

"I wish there were more than 5 stars for this stay. Everything about this stay was perfect. The cabin was clean, beautiful, and accurately described in the listing. We enjoyed how the cabin was remote with a beautiful scenic drive to town where we counted 300 plus deer over the week. It’s a 25-30 min drive from downtown but it really doesn’t seem that long! We were both so sad to leave and will definitely be back in the future!"

"The rustic beauty of this newly built cabin has to be seen to be understood. The sunsets from the shared deck were beautiful! And the deck is lit up at night as well as the surrounding trees. It overlooks a wooded box canyon and we saw several deer. The shower was great with a LOT of water pressure. The furniture was comfortable and the lighting was creative and beautiful. We very much enjoyed our stay there. If you want to get away from town and out into the country, this is a great place. There is one other rental house on the property, but the week we were there we had the whole place to ourselves. If you stay here, the best burgers in Texas are two miles away at the Alamo Springs Cafe. It's a must do!"

About The Owners

Johnny and DeNise Merritt are West Texas high-school sweethearts who moved to the Texas Hill Country to create their own “rustic oasis” away from it all, while remaining close enough to the city to enjoy the best of both worlds. Their faith drives them to love others with an open heart, and their mission is to share their beautiful home with others who will love it as much as they do.

During the week, Johnny serves as a corporate and real estate attorney in Austin and by the weekend, he enjoys welcoming guests and serving as the property’s caretaker. Give him a wave if you happen to see him working on the ranch!
